About the Our Lady of Fatima Novena
From May to October 1917, the Virgin Mary appeared six times to three shepherd children — Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta — in the Cova da Iria near Fatima, Portugal. She asked for daily Rosary prayer, penance and consecration to her Immaculate Heart for the conversion of sinners and peace in the world.
On October 13, 1917 — the day of the final apparition — over 70,000 people witnessed the Miracle of the Sun: the sun danced in the sky, changed colours, and appeared to plunge toward the earth before returning to its place. Reporters and secular witnesses who came to disprove the apparitions left believers.
Our Lady of Fatima gave three secrets to the children, revealed the importance of the Brown Scapular, and asked specifically: "Pray the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war."
The Feast of Our Lady of Fatima is May 13 — the date of the first apparition.

Most Holy Virgin, who has deigned to come to Fatima to reveal to the three little shepherds the treasures of graces hidden in the recitation of the Rosary, inspire our hearts with a sincere love of this devotion, so that by meditating on the Mysteries of our Redemption that are recalled in it, we may gather the fruits and obtain the conversion of sinners, the conversion of Russia, and this favour which I so ardently desire...
