About the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Novena
Mount Carmel in the Holy Land has been associated with Mary since the earliest days of Christianity. The Carmelite Order, founded there in the 12th century, placed themselves under her special patronage and spread devotion to the Brown Scapular throughout the world.
On July 16, 1251, Our Lady appeared to Saint Simon Stock, the Prior General of the Carmelites, and gave him the Brown Scapular — a small piece of brown cloth to be worn as a sign of consecration. She promised: "Whoever dies wearing this scapular shall not suffer eternal fire."
Pope John XXII later received a vision of Our Lady promising special assistance to those who wear the scapular, pray the Rosary and observe certain practices — this became known as the Sabbatine Privilege.
Today, millions of Catholics wear the Brown Scapular as a sign of their consecration to Mary and her promise of protection.

🙏 The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Novena Prayer
O most beautiful Flower of Mt. Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity.
O Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein you are my Mother.
O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succour me in my necessity. There are none that can withstand your power. O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands. Amen.
Pray this prayer once each day for nine consecutive days, beginning on July 7.
