About the Miraculous Medal Novena
In 1830 the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Catherine Labouré, a young novice of the Daughters of Charity, in the chapel on the Rue du Bac in Paris. On November 27, 1830, Catherine saw Mary standing on a globe with rays of light streaming from her hands, surrounded by the words: “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.”
Our Lady asked that a medal be struck in this image. The first medals were made in 1832, during a cholera epidemic in Paris, and the many graces reported by those who wore it led people to call it the Miraculous Medal. Saint Catherine was canonized in 1947.
The Feast of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal is November 27, the anniversary of the apparition in which the medal was shown to Catherine.

O Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God and my Mother, from the heights of your glory turn your eyes upon me with kindness. Full of confidence in your goodness, I come to you and ask for your protection.
As you appeared to Saint Catherine Labouré with rays of grace streaming from your hands, pour out those graces on me, on my family, and on all who turn to you.
